We all love junk food, don’t we! But nearly all junk food have healthier alternatives. Take a hamburger, for example. Nope, takes THIS hamburger, make it and enjoy with a shiraz from Rickety Bridge.
Burger
500gr lean beef mince
120 gr chopped onion
15 gr chopped garlic
10 gr chopped red chilli
30 gr chopped fresh chopped parsley
1 grated leek
1 stalk grated celery
2 grated carrots
5 TBS chutney
4 eggs
100gr breadcrumbs
Salt & pepper
Fry off the onion, garlic, chilli, leeks, celery and carrots, then add this mixture and all other ingredients into a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Form into +/- 180gr patties and fry in shallow oil.
Mushroom Sauce
50gr finely chopped onion
15 gr chopped garlic
20gr chopped parsley
100gr sliced mushrooms
80ml cream
150 ml beefstock
Salt & pepper to taste
Fry off the onion, garlic and mushrooms over medium heat, add the cream and stir. Stir in the beefstock and allow to reduce over medium heat until thickened. Add salt and pepper to taste.
