Rhebokskloof, the well-known and prestigious wine estate near Paarl, walked away with top honours at the recent Syrah du Monde International Competition when the Rhebokskloof Black Marble Hill Reserve Syrah 2006 was awarded a gold medal.

The Rhebokskloof Black Marble Hill Reserve Syrah 2006 competed with the best shiraz wines in the world at this prestigious event, which took place in Château d’Ampuis, one of the jewels of the Renaissance.

And the gold medal wasn’t just for the magnificent wine from Rhebokskloof. The estate’s two winemakers, both roses among the thorns of winemaking, deserved that gold as much as the Black Marble Hill Syrah Reserve.

The commitment to quality and passion with which Rolanie Lotz (winemaker) and Karin Louw (assistant winemaker) craft their wines helped secure this honour for this South African wine producer.

As a shiraz specialist, Rhebokskloof’s red wines from this cultivar have always been the pride of its collection, and the Black Marble Hill Reserve Syrah 2006 continues that tradition.
