Knorhoek Wines has been awarded the esteemed Grand Gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2024 for its Knorhoek Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, highlighting the estate’s ability to shine on the international wine stage. The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles rated it as the sole revelation in its category, securing its place as the Best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world.

Knorhoek’s “twin estate” Quoin Rock also won big at this year's competition, achieving significant success by earning the most Gold medals from South Africa at this renowned international competition. These two esteemed wineries, each maintaining their individual brands and identities, are located next to each other near Stellenbosch. They operate under the same ownership, forming a unified group dedicated to excellence in winemaking.

"We are elated by this incredible achievement at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles," said Denis Gaiduk, director at Quoin Rock and Knorhoek. "Being recognized for making the Best Cabernet Sauvignon globally shows our dedication to crafting wines from our unique Simonsberg terroir."

Schalk Opperman (right), the talented cellar master behind these wines, has been crucial in reaching this milestone with his expertise and passion to craftsmanship. His careful approach consistently earns our wines international praise.

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is known for its rigorous judging process, making these awards a true mark of excellence in the global wine industry. Knorhoek and Quoin Rock Wineries are immensely proud and excited to be recognized at such a prestigious level.
